slightly slower than echo().

<?php
$str = "Who's Kai Jim?";
print $str;
print "<br />";
print $str."<br />I don't know!";
?>

<?php
print "This text
spans multiple
lines.";
?>

name, not the value:

print "<br />";
print 'Roses are $color';
?>

The output of the code above will be:
