Definition and Usage
The mysql_ping() function pings a server connection or reconnects to it if
there is no connection.
This function returns TRUE if there is a connection, or FALSE on
failure.
Syntax
Parameter |
Description |
connection |
Optional. Specifies the MySQL connection. If not specified,
the last connection opened by mysql_connect() or mysql_pconnect() is used. |
Tips and Notes
Note: This function can be used by scripts that remain idle for a long
time.
