The <pre> tag defines preformatted text.
Text in a pre element is displayed in a fixed-width font (usually Courier), and it preserves both spaces and line breaks.
The <pre> tag is supported in all major browsers.
The "width" attribute of the pre element was deprecated in HTML 4.01, and is not supported in XHTML 1.0 Strict DTD.
Tip: Use the pre element to display computer code!
DTD indicates in which DTD the attribute is allowed. S=Strict, T=Transitional, and F=Frameset.
