The <b> tag makes text bold.
The <b> tag is used to define parts of a text as more important then the rest.
None, but in HTML 4.01, there was an understanding that you should use CSS to make text bold. This is still the case, but in HTML 5 you should use the <b> tag to define some part of a text as more important than the rest.
